Recipe Post N0.26- Fig and Raspberry Crumble Cake

Hello my lovely boys and girls!

Today I'm back with yet another baking post after almost a month long break. I think it's safe to say I am more settled into the intense workload. As far as you need to know, I have another post prepared for you, during THE WEEK, in honour of BakingBoutique's up and coming third birthday which I honestly can't wait for. πŸ˜πŸ˜„

To concoct this very Autumn-y cake, you'll need:

100g of butter, softened

150g of golden caster sugar

2 large eggs, lightly beaten

125g of plain flour

75g of ground almonds

1 tsp of baking powder

100g of natural yoghurt

7 large figs

175g of raspberries

30g of flaked almonds

For the crumble topping:

50g of flour

25g of cold butter, cut into cubes

35g of soft,light brown sugar

Method;

First and foremost, pre-heat the oven to 180℃/160
fan/ Gas Mark 4. With this, grease and line the base for a 20cm springy cake tin.

To make the crumble topping, rub the flour and butter together with your fingertips until the mixture is crumbly. Stir in the sugar.

As for the cake, cream together the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Next add in the egg, a little at a time, beating well after each addition.

Subsequently, beat in the vanilla extract. Sift in the flour and incorporate the almonds and baking powder.

Fold in 1 large tbsp of the flour into the mixture, prior to adding the rest, and alternate this with the yoghurt.

After this, snip off the fig stalks and halve four of them, chopping the rest. Stir in the chopped figs and approximately 1/3 of the raspberries into the batter.

Then, scrape this into the prepared tin. Lay the halved figs on top and sprinkle with the remaining of the raspberries. Scatter the crumble on top, following the rest of the raspberries, then the flaked almonds.

Bake this in the oven for 1hr and 15 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.

Leave the cake in the tin for around 15 minutes and then run a palette knife around the outside of the cake.

Slide the cake onto a serving plate and volia!

Recipe Post N0.14- Healthy Lemon Scones

Hola a todos!

Firstly, I give thanks to all who commented on my last post. To tell the truth, I've missed writing up a blog post, to accompany my awesome photography(if I do say so myself😊😝).  I hope I haven't been gone for TOO long. Withal, I'm delighted to be back with yet another recipe using one of my favorite ingredients- lemonsπŸ˜πŸ˜‰

This week' post is a healthier alternative to the classic British bake which revolves around the Spring season.

In order to concoct these healthy treats, you'll need:

180g of "spelt flour"

½ tbsp of baking powder

¼ tsp of salt

zest of 1 medium lemon

28g of cold, unsalted butter

120g of plain nonfat Greek yogurt

45ml of maple syrup

3 tbsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 tsp of vanilla extract

2 tbsp of milk

Method:

First and foremost, preheat the oven to 220/200 fan/ Gas Mark 7 and line a baking sheet with baking parchment.

To prepare the scones, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. Eventually whisk in the lemon zest. Add in the butter.

Make a well into the centre and incorporate the Greek yogurt, maple syrup, lemon juice and vanilla extract.Stir this until just mixed.

Transfer the dough int a prepared baking sheet. Brush the top over with milk. It's up to you whether you'd like to make one big scone or make 12 individual ones.

Bake for 17-19 minutes until the tops are lightly golden. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. And volia! I decided to make lemon drizzle icing to accompany my yummy scones.

Recipe Post 2017 N0.24- Maple Cinnamon Star Cookies!πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸͺπŸͺ

As I type this post, I lounge in front of the TV, tuning into the grand Children In Need Appeal Show which as always, never fails to disappoint, entertainment-wise and fundraising-wise.

As a matter of fact, I discovered this recipe over on Pinterest, bookmarking and "pinning" the recipe to my Pinterest Likes. This creation is made by one of my favorite baking bloggers, SallysBakingAdditcion. Without further ado, let's jump right into this week's recipe!

In order to make these unqiuely-flavoured stars, you'll require:

281g of plain flour

1tsp of ground cinnamon

½ tsp of baking powder

170g of unsalted butter, softened to room temp

150g of granulated sugar

1 large egg, at room temp

½ teaspoons of maple syrup

1tsp of vanilla extract

gold or edible sprinkles

optional: white chocolate,coarsely chopped.

Directions to pretty,adorable star cookies:

Whisk the flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt together in a medium-sized bowl. Set this aside.

In a large bowl, using a handheld or freestanding mixer(with a paddle attachment), beat the butter until creamy and smooth, approximately for a minute.

Add in the sugar, beating on high speed until light and fluffy, for around 2 minutes. Scrape down the sides and up the bottom of the bowl,as needed.

Incorporate the egg, maple syrup, vanilla extract, beating yet again on a hugh speed until fully combined for around 2 minutes. Scarpe down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed.

Reduce the mixer to a slower speed, add around half of the flour mixture at a time. Beat this until just combined(if you're confused by this, I'll have a picture below). Add in the rest of the flour, continue to mix until just combined.

If the dough seems too soft, add in 1 extra tablespoon of flour until it's a better consistency.

Divide the dough into 2 equal parts, rolling each portion out onto a piece of baking paper to roughly a quarter inch of thickness.

Stack the pieces with baking paper, between the two-refridgerate this for at least an hour or even up to a day (this means the photos for this recipe may take long to upload again).

Once chilled, pre-heat the oven to 177 C/ 160 C fan/ Gas Mark 4. Line 2-3 baking sheets. Remove one of the dough pieces from the fridge, using a star cookie cutter. Transfer this onto the prepared bakign sheet(be prepared for alot of baking paper).

Before placing into the oven, top with sprinkles, using a spoon to slightly press the sprinkles into the cookies so they remain secure on top.

Bake the "sugar cookies" for 10-11 minutes until lightly browned, around the edges.

* note: halfway through baking time, rotate the sheet.

Transfer to wire rack to cool completely before dipping into chocolate.

Baking Post 2017 N0.21- Likes of October!

😁😘Saludos compañeros panaderos!

I neglected my "favorites of the month" for awhile. Therefore, I present you with my likes of October 2017!πŸ˜πŸ˜„

First and foremost, recipes.

Blackberry and Mallow Traybake- ever since I made this post a couple weeks back,I've become in love with the recipe. Although it requires more effort than usual and an abundance in ingredients, the ending result is phenomenal and it goes down really well.

Baked Fruity Autumn Pudding- I made this around the same time last year and it went down a real treat. The kitchen wafted with cinnamon and it was such a autumnal scent while baking in the oven.

Spiced Toffee Apple Cake- I am yet to bake this. Firts of all, it sounds AMAZING and according to its source, it's super simple to make,I hope. To be frank, I've enevr had a toffee apple so experimenting the toffee apple flavor in a cake will be interesting for sure.

Pumpkin Spice Cake with Honey Frosting- to me the "honey frosting" caught my attention. I've never encountered a recipe which requires honey for the frosting so I was rather intrigued by this recipe,if anything.

Apple-Cinnamon, Upside-Down Cake-I like this cake for several reasons-it incorporates fruit which may suggest an element of healthiness(2017 has been the year where I;ve incorporated a lot of fruits into my baking to try and make baking cakes more healthy and easy,in a way).

Food:

Next, are favorites on food in general, no more baking!πŸ˜…

Buddha Bowl Meal Prep- as a matter of fact, I perceived this recipe from Tasty, a BuzzFeed YouTube channel who basically videos dinners, desserts, healthy snacks and and everything "tasty".
πŸ˜‹delectable

Caribbean Beef Patties- I live to eat Caribbean Beef Patties! These are absolutely mouth-watering, whether purchased freshly from a Caribbean bakery or in a packet from a supermarket, I recommend you to try!

Reggae Reggae Nachos- this Caribbean-inspired food is derived from Levi Roots,as a matter of fact. The picture displays its beauty and Caribbean vibes! I would love to have a try myself.πŸ˜πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Trends-this is merely other articles I've had a liking for, besides foods!

Yankee Autumn Night Candle-this candle has decadence  of Autumnal scents, inviting a "brisk earthiness and dreamy interludes of lavender and woodland notes" ,according to Yankee Candle's website. I can quite agree, in fact.

Zara Wonder Rose £9.99- I am currently wearing this scent as I compose this post and it's fantastic. It lasts for hours and hours and has a rejuvenating yet a subtle redolence about it. It's for what it's worth.

Zoella Gelat'Eau Body Mist £8.00- Now, I don't favor this product particularly because it's produced by Zoella. No I like this perfume because it's scent is fabulous-it's almost like a satsuma/orangery scent, in my opinion. It wondrous and a treat to spritz.

Woolly hats- I love them! They have this tumblr, typical Autumn-y vibe about them which I adore. They're great with any Autumn-like outfit and ah I just love them!

I foudn this funny-apparently it's a Thanksgiving hatπŸ˜‚

Scarves- they're comfy, adorable and go with any outfit. What's not to love?!

Belgium Hot chocolate-delicious,good-quality and a really endearing feeling about it.

Pumpkin Spice Latte- not many of my friends like it but I LOVE IT! I generally dislike coffee. Nonetheless, the Pumpkin Spice latte doesn't  taste like coffee at all but like a cup of Autumn and deliciousness!

Tropicana Pressed Apple- I have this every morning after I eat my breakfast. It's a nice thing to drink down my breakfast, tasted amazing and astoundingly, my face has gotten better.

Kiko Milano Precision Eyebrow: This is a reasonable price, draws onto skin fantastically. According to Kiko Milano's website, the product's formula contains high-melt waxes ensuring adherence, precision and a long lasting line."

Anthracite Grey Knitted Top(Zara)-fits my personal style and keeps me warm.

Anime!!! I'm been obsessed with NigaHiga introduced me on Anime Superheroes!

Giphy- I love using it in my baking posts. It makes them more...light-hearted and fun, from where I stand, anyway.

YOU- I love each and every one of you, whether you're a stranger who's reading my blog or who's become familiar with my baking posts for quite some time. This wouldn't be worthwhile without you all watching.πŸ’˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜

Girls Life: It can be the only thing that entertains me or grants me inspiration for this blog,as a matter of fact.

Photography: Recently I've joined Photography Club. I've always had a liking for photography, through this blog actually. However, it's opened doors for me in terms of interaction, learning and a sense of achievement.

I'm going to leave this favoruites posts at that. Comment below on what your favoruties for October are and I'll see you in my next post!
