Recipe Post 2017 N0.24- Maple Cinnamon Star Cookies!😋😋🍪🍪

As I type this post, I lounge in front of the TV, tuning into the grand Children In Need Appeal Show which as always, never fails to disappoint, entertainment-wise and fundraising-wise.

As a matter of fact, I discovered this recipe over on Pinterest, bookmarking and "pinning" the recipe to my Pinterest Likes. This creation is made by one of my favorite baking bloggers, SallysBakingAdditcion. Without further ado, let's jump right into this week's recipe!

In order to make these unqiuely-flavoured stars, you'll require:

281g of plain flour

1tsp of ground cinnamon

½ tsp of baking powder

170g of unsalted butter, softened to room temp

150g of granulated sugar

1 large egg, at room temp

½ teaspoons of maple syrup

1tsp of vanilla extract

gold or edible sprinkles

optional: white chocolate,coarsely chopped.

Directions to pretty,adorable star cookies:

Whisk the flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt together in a medium-sized bowl. Set this aside.

In a large bowl, using a handheld or freestanding mixer(with a paddle attachment), beat the butter until creamy and smooth, approximately for a minute.

Add in the sugar, beating on high speed until light and fluffy, for around 2 minutes. Scrape down the sides and up the bottom of the bowl,as needed.

Incorporate the egg, maple syrup, vanilla extract, beating yet again on a hugh speed until fully combined for around 2 minutes. Scarpe down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed.

Reduce the mixer to a slower speed, add around half of the flour mixture at a time. Beat this until just combined(if you're confused by this, I'll have a picture below). Add in the rest of the flour, continue to mix until just combined.

If the dough seems too soft, add in 1 extra tablespoon of flour until it's a better consistency.

Divide the dough into 2 equal parts, rolling each portion out onto a piece of baking paper to roughly a quarter inch of thickness.

Stack the pieces with baking paper, between the two-refridgerate this for at least an hour or even up to a day (this means the photos for this recipe may take long to upload again).

Once chilled, pre-heat the oven to 177 C/ 160 C fan/ Gas Mark 4. Line 2-3 baking sheets. Remove one of the dough pieces from the fridge, using a star cookie cutter. Transfer this onto the prepared bakign sheet(be prepared for alot of baking paper).

Before placing into the oven, top with sprinkles, using a spoon to slightly press the sprinkles into the cookies so they remain secure on top.

Bake the "sugar cookies" for 10-11 minutes until lightly browned, around the edges.

* note: halfway through baking time, rotate the sheet.

Transfer to wire rack to cool completely before dipping into chocolate.

Recipe Post N0.12-Garden Picnic Party 2017

Greetings,my loves!

To begin with,I have settled a decision on where I should clarify my absence on SnapChat  as well as BakingBoutique.  To confirm, you can find such an explanation on my SnapChat account linked below for you to add.

Moving that matter aside, let's dive right into this week's post(s)!!😁😁

Similar to BakingBoutique's picnic last year, I shall write up TWO blog posts:the first one regarding preparation, for the forthcoming picnic, making the second post based upon the photography, decorations etc, etc.

*Just to note, all the following recipes were uncovered on  Yummly, the original recipes shall be left at the end of today's post*

To conjure up this "perfect for picnic" Italian pasta salad, you'll require:

340 grams of rotini

1 green bell pepper

3 green onions

60g of baby spinach

80g of cheese(preferably Parmesan)

170g of nonfat,plain yogurt

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

2 tablespoons of fresh herbs

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 tsp of salt

Method:

Boil pasta, according to the included instructions. When you strain water after pasta is done, run under cool water to cool pasta down.

During its cooling, throw together the dressing by stirring or whisking together the yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil and salt.

Once the pasta is completely cooled, pour dressing over pasta, add in chopped vegetables, lastly sprinkling cheese and toss. Spoon into jars/Tupperware containers. Easy-peasy!!

Following the salad is a all-new recipe from BakingBoutique's usual sugary, sweet courses and occasional "elaborate" baking. Oh yes, I'm talking savory.

To concoct these somewhat satisfying muffins, in the kitchen, you'll need:

•500g of plain flour

•10g of salt

•3tsps of baking powder

•25g of rapeseed oil

•20g of honey

•300ml of water

•2 tablespoons of fresh basil leaves, finely chopped

•1 teaspoon of fried Italian mixed herbs

•4 mild pickled pepperoni peppers,chopped

•handful of kalamata olives, roughly chopped

•150g of feta cheese

•12-12 cherry tomatoes(I strongly dislike tomatoes so I had opted for roasted red peppers).

Method:

First and foremost, pre-heat your oven to 200°C. Grease 12 muffin tine with butter.

Within a sizable bowl, combine all ingredients together, excluding the feta cheese or tomatoes. Mix with hands, gently kneading until it JUST comes together to a rough dough.

Crumble in the feta cheese and ESPECIALLY gently knead to incorporate the feta into the dough.

Turn the dough out onto your work surface, using your hands to form golf-ball sized pieces and place them into your greased muffin tray.

Press in some tomatoe-y pieces into each individual muffin, finishing with a garnishing of cheese.

Bake @ 200°C for 20 minutes until nicely browned.

The above-mentioned are uncommon, superb picnic bites, differentiating from classic garden parties!

Succeeding after our muffins is Summer Drizzle Cake.

For this the ingredients are:

•2 large eggs

•2 tsp of vanilla extract

•175g of fruit,stoned and diced

•140g of granulated sugar

•1-2tbsp  of citrus juice (lemon, lime or orange)

•175g of soft butter, plus extra for greasing

•175g of golden caster sugar

•250g of self-raising flour

Baking in the making:

Heat the ovens to 180/160°C/ Gas Mark 4. Grease a loaf tin, lining the base, ending with a long strip of baking paper.

Place the butter, caster sugar, flour, eggs and vanilla extract into a large bowl and beat with an electric hand mixer for 5 minutes until pale and creamy -the mixture being very thick.

Spread one-third of cake mix into the tin, scattering 50g of fruit all over. Carefully dot and spread another third of the cake mix on top, once more scattering with another 50g of fruit.

Lastly, dot the rest of the cake mix over, gently spread with the back of a spoon. Bake for 1 hour, until an inserted skewer comes out clean.

Poke the cake all over with a skewer. Place remaining 75g of fruit into a bowl with granulated sugar. Stir in 1 tbsp of citrus juice first with a fork, mashing a little of the fruit as you go.

If it's a bit dry,add a splash more juice and spoon over the cake.

Leave in the tine until the cake is cool and the topping is set and crisp before serving.

Accessories considering this Garden Picnic Party

The element of picnic ornamentation is distinctiveness, simplicity and admiration. I became motivated by Pinterest's ideas, rooting out awe-inspiring images which I may incorporate into this picnic's appearance.

I thought this idea was so cool

I  aim for this post and my forth-coming post later in the day to encourage you to organise a picnic one day, gather a handful of friends and enjoy the nice weather(if you're lucky enough to have it).

Baking post N0.5 - March Food websites Favorites

Hey!

Firstly, I apologize for the lack of baking posts over the past couple of weeks. As I said previously, I am due for a piano exam, which shall occur next Wednesday. By then, hopefully, I'll be back to normal,schedule-wise.

Transferring swiftly onto this week's post, I do not believe I have ever proceeded a "Food Websites Favorites" on this blog before. I stimulated my blogging creativity from a fellow food blogger, The Simple Sweet Life- a link of her blog will be left to your curiosity below.

Without further ado, let's jump right in.

In no particular order , my food favorite(in the form of a database) is Ruby Violet. Being an artisan ice cream parlor locally, it is the destination for wonderful, inventive flavors as well as classically-made ice cream. As the saying goes :Time and tide wait for no man-go and hop over to their website.

Next up is Tregothan Tea. Being Britain's ONLY tea producer, its estate in Cornwall makes up to 35 varieties of tea. That and the fact that they own the U'S largest charity Garden Open Weekend. If you happen to be in Cornwall sometime in April, take the time to visit Tregothan Tea Estate.

Descending down my list of food websites is Fuchsia Dunlop. Whether you originate from an Asian background or not, she is the first and foremost expert on western world cuisine. She's dedicated her knowledge to a food blog for years and years and never fails to bore me.
Yummly's logo

Coming across the following on my own conscious is Yummly.
This website is a cool, innovative, creative website, brimming with recipes from baking sites globally. In my opinion, it's your best ticket to the world of recipes. I downloaded the app onto my tablet and signed up to their mailing list to keep in touch with tantalizing, mouth-watering dishes. I recommend this website to experts in cookery or tho those who want a change in their everyday cooking.

Dedicated to lovers of Cake Craft is Cake Craft World. The website consists of the title- a world of cake craft, sold at a reasonable price, appears to be exceptionally impressive.

Proceeding from Cake Craft World is BakingMad.com. It is the first website that comes up if you type baking into your search engine. This proves the simplicity of finding the website. The website includes an endless result of recipes for all occasions. There are even ideas for upcoming Mother's Day.

Gingerbread Pancakes

Succeeding from BakingMad is Top With Cinnamon. An artistic, aesthetically-beautifully baking blog with top-notch recipes.

With a change of rhythm is a change of gender. Ed Kimber, also known as "The Boy Who Bakes" is accountable for his own food blog which squeezes my creativity juices. He amazingly manages to close the gaps between female bakers and male bakers.

An ode to a cake
Last but not least, a recent favorite food website of my own is "Call Me Cupcake". Call Me Cupcake is home to the Swedish home baker and photographer, Linda Lomenio. If you also happen to be a fan of photography and baking, look no further.

Alright, that's a wrap on this week's post. Prior to this post ending:
